With the rising demand of beauty treatment to try in the house, we are curious to know which beauty rituals industry experts swear by as well as how their approach to self-care has changed after lockdown. We tapped the shoulder of six beauty insiders to spill the details of their favorite at-home beauty ritual.

Jasmi Bonnén, founder of NUORI

During lockdown, I have used more time on beauty treatments at home. I love to give myself a little face massage with some good products, just before bed. I start with cleansing my skin followed by a gentle exfoliation. Hereafter I will mix a few drops of Nuori Perfecting Facial Oil with the Supreme Moisture Mask and apply it to my face and neck. While the mask sits on the skin, I’ll massage all face muscles in small circular motions for at least five minutes. It gives the skin heaps of moisture, a healthy glow, and calms your face.

My swear-by beauty ritual is definitely double cleansing. My skin isn’t ready for skincare until I have made sure to remove all makeup, grease and dirt accumulated! Lockdown has taught me to give my skin peace and not drench it in too many products. It is important to let the skin breathe.

Mette Skjærbæk, founder of Karmameju

I have always used my home as a home spa but when lockdown came I turned my attention towards myself and my mind. More time in the bathroom, focus on movement, enough sleep and daylight, as well as good eating habits and time away from the screen etc., all became important to prioritize. At Karmameju, we focused on helping people feel good during lockdown, and one of the beauty rituals that came about is triple-masking where you use three face masks in a row. My personal favorite ritual is dry brushing my face, body and scalp. A ritual which has followed me since I discovered it at the age of 19. Dry brushing stimulates the nervous and lymphatic systems as well as increases blood circulation, and then it has an abundance of holistic benefits.

This past year my favorite beauty ritual has been to perform lymphatic drainage with my gua sha stone every morning and evening. In the morning it helps reduce puffiness in my face and prepare me for the day ahead. In the evening it helps to calm my skin. Now that I am back to work after lockdown, I mostly find time for the ritual in the evening, but I will definitely stick to that as my time for self-care is non-negotiable.

Alexander Gomez, Beauty Advisor ILLUM Beauty Lab

I am very loyal when it comes to taking care of my skin so lockdown hasn’t changed much about my routine. I am not as religious when it comes to which brands I am using, once a product is empty I usually try a different one. One of my favorite rituals is to use a derma roller with my skincare routine. I do it roughly once a month and it helps to revive the skin and keep it healthy and strong.

My go-to beauty ritual is my skincare routine using Estée Lauder products. I start by cleansing with the Re-Nutriv cleanser. Then I apply Re-Nutriv serum and Re-Nutriv Ultimate cream on top. I finish off with the Re-Nutriv Diamond eye cream.
